OUR FAVOURITE SHARK SPECIES

Ranging in size from a respectable 50lbs all the way to 500lbs plus, our sharks are impressive! While Blues are most common, the occasional Porbeagle and Mako enter our waters, we also see a wide range of other fish and marine mammals, turtles, birds.

Blue Shark

Long and slender, the Blue Shark is a beauty! Colours are indigo-blue back and white underparts, and found typically in the open sea.

Porbeagle

The Porbeagle shark is a wide-ranging shark that’s recognized by its conical snout, white underbelly and dark gray top.

Mako

Considered the fastest shark in the world, the Mako is a high-speed acrobatic creature known to put on stunning aerial displays.

ALL DAY FISHING ADVENTURES

DEPARTING FROM GOVERNMENT WHARF, EASTERN PASSAGE

1. Up She Rises

We begin early; most mornings start between 6:00 & 7:00am.

The sun is usually just coming up as we head out through Eastern Passage and into the Halifax Harbour Approaches.

3. Then, we wait.

How Long? Some days it's minutes, some days it's hours - but when those first fins appear you'll know you're on the right boat.

2. Morning Sail

We steam offshore, taking in the striking views of Halifax Harbour and wildlife.

Most mornings we stop to fish before heading to the shark grounds.

4. Fish On

When you hear those words, the scramble begins. Who wants to fight this one? It could be just a little one, or it could be the fight of the day - you just never know.

6. Catch of a Lifetime

When the shark is caught there is still a lot of work to be done....everyone has a job to do on the boat including catch, measure, safely dehook, and tag.

We release all animals according to best scientific practices and over two decades of hands-on experience with the shark of Nova Scotia.

5. Heat In The Reels

Fighting a shark can take anywhere from 5 minutes, to 5+ hours, depending on the size.

Our top notch gear and crew are here to enable anglers of all sizes and skill levels a landed catch.

Our Vessel:

We run a Provincial Marine boat built in Prince Edward Island. She is a rugged, safe, purpose-built fishing vessel that is trimmed for maximum comfort for our guests while we are getting the job done.

We can accommodate up to 10 people per trip or as few as one.

Constructed specifically for use in North Atlantic Ocean fisheries, she is setup for hardcore fishing and easy entertainment.

The Provincial Marine brand is known for its hardy and efficient boats that you will see far offshore. You may be familiar with Pinwheel & Little Shell from National Geographic's hit series Wicked Tuna - both boats were constructed in the same yard as ours, and they are all proven to raise fish.
